♦ Exotic and tannic, citrus zest and spice ♦
Orange maceration wine, a combination of Gewurztraminer and Riesling.
This cuvée is produced using a very old Alsatian winemaking method, n which the alcoholic fermentation of the musts is carried out with the skins, pips, grape pulp and stalks. The result is dry wines with more colour, chewiness, polyphenols and mineral elements, wines that are aromatic, salty, sapid and gastronomic.
Tasting notes
- The majority grape, Gewurztraminer, has an old pink/purple skin, which gives a wine with a beautiful orange colour with pink reflections.
- It is a very dry wine with aromas similar to a white wine, and a tannic structure similar to that of a red wine.
- This first vintage develops aromas of citrus zest (tangerine, grapefruit), more spicy notes of liquorice and ginger with a slightly hoppy finish and a hint of bitterness brought out by the tannins.
Food and wine pairing
It is a wine to be appreciated with a meal, with terrines, spicy and exotic dishes, fish with a spicy sauce. As a general rule, it goes well with dishes with a spicy taste and which require a dry wine.
