From vines to wines
Due to the new sanitary measures, this activity will be limited to 30 people, on reservation at the Tourist Office of the Valley of Munster.
For more than 15 years, the Schoenheitz family, the only winegrowers in the canton of Munster, have been offering hikes on the slopes of Wihr-au-Val. An easy walk of about 1h30, the winegrower will take you through the middle of her terroirs to explain to you the whole vegetative cycle of the vine, the work of the winegrower and the history of this century-old vineyard.
Meeting at 9:30 am at the Cave Schoenheitz. Join the 15th century ossuary chapel of Saint Michel and discover all the charms of this village of a thousand legends. From the top of the Herrenreben, enjoy the breathtaking view over the valley, breathe in the scents of the flora and learn how our winegrowers work. On the way back to the village, you overlook the 19th century church of Saint Martin.
Around 11 am, return to the coolness of the cellar. While following the course of the grapes during the harvest, discover what is behind the words "pneumatic press, stainless steel vat or alcoholic fermentation,...".
Finally, the walk ends with the tasting of several wines; dry, sweet, sparkling or red wine, there again, Dominique will be able to guide you to better know our beautiful Alsatian grape varieties.
An original and convivial formula to discover the wines of Alsace with family or friends.
Activity proposed in French and English.
