From vines to wines
Jérôme knows the vineyard like the back of her hand! With him, you will not be bored: walk on the heights of Wihr-au-val, visit the family cellar and taste the local wines. Quite a programme!
Discovery of the vineyard followed by a visit to the cellar and tasting. An original and friendly way to discover Alsatian wines with family or friends!
Every summer, we offer you a hike on the slopes of Wihr-au-Val. We will take you through the vineyards to explain the vegetative cycle of the vine, the work of the winegrower and the history of this century-old vineyard.
Meet at 9:30 am at the Schoenheitz estate. From there, go to the 15th century Saint Michel ossuary chapel and discover all the charms of this village with a thousand legends. From the top of the Herrenreben, enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley, breathe in the scent of the flora and learn how we work. On the way back to the village, you will see the 19th century church of St. Martin.
At around 11am, return to the cool of the cellar. While following the path of the grapes during the harvest, discover what is hidden behind the words "pneumatic press, stainless steel tank or alcoholic fermentation,...". Finally, the tour ends with the tasting of several wines; dry, sweet, sparkling or red, here again, you will be guided to better understand the wines of Alsace.
